How we create content

Every article on Shine & Strand is written or reviewed by Trudy Banks, a licensed beautician with 15+ years of industry experience. We write from a combination of professional training, hands-on testing, and research into publicly available product information.

Our standards

• We don’t publish fabricated reviews, invented statistics, or made-up testimonials.
• Product recommendations are based on ingredients, real user feedback, and — where possible — direct testing.
• If we haven’t tried something ourselves, we say so.
• Any affiliate relationship is disclosed at the point of recommendation, not just in a footer link.
• We update older posts when product formulations, availability, or our own recommendations change.
